Villa Kilpisjärvi is a privately owned chalet which houses three high-quality apartments in the most scenic location in this tiny alpine village of only one hundred year-round residents. The setting is peaceful and the views are stunning: the lake below glitters with crystal clear water in summer while it is frozen solid in winter, the majestic peaks of the Norwegian mountains can be seen at a distance, and the mighty Saana Fell, the “home rock” of Kilpisjärvi, is your next door neighbor. The Arctic Ocean and Norway’s magnificent fjord landscapes are within an hour’s drive from the village.
Villa Kilpisjärvi is perfectly situated away from the main thoroughfare, in a residential area, yet within an easy 10-minute walk from the core of the village where you will find restaurants, a supermarket, the bus stop, and a gas station which also houses the local post office. Guided activity providers are found in the immediate neighborhood. Nature is literally at your doorstep when you choose Villa Kilpisjärvi, with the hiking trail and the cross-country ski track to Saana Fell starting from the backyard. The grounds around the villa are yours to enjoy, with terraces and patios for admiring the views – the midnight sun in summer, the northern lights in winter – and a cozy wooden hut for relaxing barbeques around an open fire.

1. HALTI
HALTI, which bears the name of Finland’s highest peak, is the biggest of the three units. Perfect for entertaining business associates or for a gathering of family and friends, it sleeps up to 8 persons.
Its total area of 85 m2 (914 sq.ft) consists of three bedrooms, a fully equipped open kitchen, a living/dining area with scenic views of the lake, a traditional sauna, and a spacious hallway.
Halti is an excellent choice for your Kilpisjärvi get-away.

2. SAANA
SAANA, aptly named after the fell which can be seen from this apartment’s bedroom window, is a great option for the couple looking for a romantic Lapland holiday. Yet the spacious one-bedroom apartment with its 45 m2 (484 sq.ft) sleeps up to five persons. The living room and the sauna offer a magnificent view of the lake, and from the bedroom window you can enjoy the sight of Saana Fell. If you travel with a larger party, you might consider renting both SAANA and MALLA (see details below) for more space and privacy.

3. MALLA
MALLA, named after the Nature Reserve on the northern shore of Lake Kilpisjärvi, is a comfortable studio of 27 m2 (290 sq.ft) for up to 3 persons. The studio enjoys a beautiful view of Saana Fell.

The “Kota” is a wooden hut, located on the slope in the immediate vicinity above the house, offering you the wonderful opportunity to gather around an open fire for drinks or dinner. Firewood is included in your vacation rental. The Kota accommodates up to 10 persons, cozily seated on soft reindeer skins. What a way to end a day full of action and adventure!
You might wish to take advantage of the Summer Kitchen where you can prepare your barbeque, and smoke or glowfry your freshly caught fish while enjoying the views of the lake and the surrounding landscape. The summer kitchen is located on the terrace of the Kota.
A wood shelter in the backyard serves the guests of Villa Kilpisjärvi as firewood storage (all wood for the wood-burning fireplaces in Halti and Saana, for the wood-burning sauna heater of Halti as well as for Kota and Summer Kitchen are included in your vacation rental). Here is space for ski maintenance and here you can also store your own outdoor equipment.
