Vacation Rentals in Finnish Lapland, near the Three-Country Border of Finland, Sweden and Norway .
The village of Kilpisjärvi is located far above the Arctic Circle, in the northwestern corner of Finnish Lapland. Villa Kilpisjärvi is a privately owned chalet which houses three high-quality apartments in the most scenic location in this tiny alpine village of only one hundred year-round residents. The setting is peaceful and the views are stunning: the lake below glitters with crystal clear water in summer while it is frozen solid in winter, the majestic peaks of the Norwegian mountains can be seen at a distance, and the mighty Saana Fell, the “home rock” of Kilpisjärvi, is your next door neighbor. The Arctic Ocean and Norway’s magnificent fjord landscapes are within an hour’s drive from the village.
Villa Kilpisjärvi is perfectly situated away from the main thoroughfare, in a residential area, yet within an easy 10-minute walk from the core of the village where you will find restaurants, a supermarket, the bus stop, and a gas station which also houses the local post office. Guided activity providers are found in the immediate neighborhood. Nature is literally at your doorstep when you choose Villa Kilpisjärvi, with the hiking trail and the cross-country ski track to Saana Fell starting from the backyard. The grounds around the villa are yours to enjoy, with terraces and patios for admiring the views – the midnight sun in summer, the northern lights in winter – and a cozy wooden hut for relaxing barbeques around an open fire.
